About Me
Dr. Hurd was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She graduated from Stanford University with a bachelor's degree in Human Biology. She received her MD from the University of Washington School of Medicine and then returned to the Bay Area to complete her residency at Oakland Children's Hospital. Following residency, Dr. Hurd initially worked at Kaiser then transitioned to private practice at Noe Valley Pediatrics where she stayed for 8 years before coming to join us here at Laurel Heights Pediatrics. Dr. Hurd is a board certified Pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has a special interest in child development, nutrition, asthma, and preventive medicine. She also enjoys international medicine and has spent time practicing medicine in Africa, Southeast Asia, Central America, South America, and Australia through various organizations, including Operation Smile.
When she is not in clinic, Dr. Hurd loves spending time with her husband, her infant twins, and her pet Maltese. As a mother and a pediatrician, she feels so fortunate that her job is to support children and families as they grow, and is looking forward to helping your families thrive
